Status/Potential MEO's interest in the South Madura PSC, acquired in 2011, covers 1586km2. The block is in year nine of a 10 year exploration term.

MEO's plans are to seek to identify Kujung reefal oil accumulations within the block, with similar potential to that of the Cepu oil field.
Surrounding Area Activity Cepu Oil Field
Cepu is very a large (~ 500MMBBL) Kujung carbonate reef oil field, operated by Exxon Mobil, onshore East Java. It commenced test production in 2008.

Jeruk and Oyong Fields
The Jeruk oil field is a Kujung reef accumulation located offshore to the south of Madura Island, and was discovered in 2005 by Santos. No Plan of Development has yet been approved by BP Migas. The Oyong gas field, also in the Sampang PSC (offshore, south of Madura Island) and operated by Santos, commenced production in 2009.

BD
The BD gas/condensate field (offshore, south of Madura Island) is operated by Husky and CNOOC and is slated to commence production in 2014.
