Work Program 601km2 of 3D seismic acquisition is planned for 1H 2012 across the block.
Status/Potential WA-454-P was awarded to MEO in 2011 through the Australian 2010 Offshore Petroleum Acreage Release, and has just commenced Year 1 of the exploration program.

The permit contains the Marina gas/oil discovery which was drilled in 2007. MEO is currently assessing the discovery and following the acquisition of the new seismic will review the remaining exploration potential in the block.

The block is adjacent to the Petrel/Tern/Frigate gas discoveries and the producing Blacktip gas field.

GDF-Suez acquired a majority operated interest in the three gas fields in fields in 2009, and along with it's joint venturers is currently assessing the viability of the joint 2.1TCF gas resource for a Floating LNG development.

Blacktip
Eni acquired a majority operated interest in the Blacktip gas field (~ 1.1TCF) in 2005. Subsequently, the field was developed and commenced producing sales gas to the Northern Territory domestic market at a peak rate of 100mmscfd in 2009.
